Welcome to the Green Learning Challenge

ACE and Arlington Public Schools presented a Celebration of Green Learning on April 17, 2008. View the slide show (12 MB PDF).

To take part schools need to:

• Designate a point person and e-mail this to the ACE office at office@arlingtonenvironment.org.
• Complete at least one green activity during the current school year. This may be one from the list of four activities below or one of your own.
• Provide a short (half-page) summary of the green activity(ies) done at your school and a picture by Monday, April 7 for inclusion in an Earth Day presentation to the Arlington School Board and on the ACE web site.
• Provide an update on your summary with additional details on activities completed in April through June (Optional).

• Organize an educational program on lunch waste and have a low-waste lunch day.
• Organize a trash-to-treasure drive where material like packing peanuts is collected for reuse by local organizations.
• Organize a campaign to conserve energy or water in the school.
• Enhance the school grounds through cleanup, planting projects, and/or certifying the school as a National Wildlife Federation schoolyard habitat.
